It's line of sight, and if you turn your head a fair amount you can get some static, or even a loss of signal if you turn much more than 45 degrees. But if you position the transmitter properly (in front of you, not off to one side), it's really not an issue. I can even go into the kitchen and maintain a signal as long as I'm pointed towards the transmitter. There is a speech clarification circuit engaged by pressing a button on the transmitter unit. The unit sits conveniently behind and beneath the screen which allows the transmission of the signal to work perfectly. Like TV ears, the signal will be blocked temporarily if someone walks between you and the transmitter base. Not a frequent problem for me.A really great feature of the Sennheiase unit is that the headset only turns on when expanded to place over your head. It sits comfortably on your ears and hangs under your chin. Light weight so it can be worn comfortably for hours. When removed, it immediately turns off allowing for many hours of listening without recharging. Recharging is simple. Simply place the headset on the transmitter cradle. The sound is great, the price was great, the product is...Well different...anything that passes between you and the transmitter will interupt the sound...I can no longer walk to the kitchen and continue to hear the TV program. I can no longer lay back in my recliner without an interuption in the sound. If I turn to speak to someone else in the room I lose sound, I can't even eat a little popcorn without the interuption of sound as my hand passes in front of the headset.Advantage - Nice unit, Good price, good sound, lose weight (no more popcorn) Disadvantage - Too restricted |
