In order to not disturb other folks in my household I shopped on Amazon for private listening devices that suited my needs. Cheaper versions I'm sure are quite adequate but I chose the Sennheiser primarily for one reason, its base/transmitter unit plugs into a wall outlet and does not operate by battery. The cheaper versions did so that meant that after you were finished viewing, if you didn't get up and turn it off, your batteries would run out quite quickly. After I'm done, I just turn the headset off, put it aside and turn over and snuggle down to sleep...no getting up to turn off the transmitter. The next morning, I simply return the headset to the transmitter and the red charger light goes on.
